The practice is owned and operated by Dr. Hoeppner. Dr. Hoeppner is originally from Northwest Iowa, but has been a resident of Arizona for over 30 years. Dr. Hoeppner is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Biological Sciences and a graduate of The Illinois College of Optometry with a doctorate of Optometry degree. During her studies at the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Hoeppner was honored on the dean's list and was a member of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and the American Optometric Student Association.

As a practicing optometrist, Dr. Hoeppner is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association Cornea and Contact Lens Section, and the Arizona Optometric Association.

Dr. Hoeppner has experience in all areas of optometry including pediatric examinations, contact lens fitting, myopia management, ocular disease management, and post cataract surgery and LASIK management.

Dr. Michele McKenna (formerly Dr. Whitacre) is originally from Michigan, where she graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. Dr. McKenna attended optometry school at Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee where she earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree. During her optometric studies, Dr. McKenna was a member of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), the American Optometric Student Association, and was president of the SCO Contact Lens Society. Dr. McKenna spent the first eleven years of her optometric career working with a large family-owned practice in Indiana. Dr. McKenna relocated to Arizona in 2011 and joined Perfect Focus Eyecare in 2019. Dr. McKenna has a passion for education, both learning new things herself and sharing her knowledge with others. She loves when patients come into the office with a desire to learn more about their eyes and enjoys answering patients' eye health and vision related questions. Dr. McKenna has experience in all areas of optometry, including post cataract surgery and LASIK management. Dr. McKenna has four dogs, and spends a lot of her free time in training classes with them. She also enjoys photography, yoga, hiking, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and watching movies.

Dr. Vermeulen is originally from Mitchell, South Dakota. He completed his undergraduate education from the University of South Dakota and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2003. Shortly after graduation, he relocated to Arizona, and has been serving the East Valley community as an optometrist for over 20 years.

With extensive experience across all areas of optometry, Dr. Vermeulen provides comprehensive care including pediatric eye exams, contact lens fittings, myopia management, ocular disease treatment, and post operative care following cataract and LASIK surgery.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Vermeulen enjoys watching sports, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife and two children, as well as his friends. He is also a passionate sports car enthusiast and regularly participates in local car shows and driving events.

Gina is an Arizona native who enjoys helping patients and finds Optometry to be an enjoyable profession. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge in Optometry and spending many years with the doctors and the rest of the staff at Perfect Focus Eyecare. In her spare time, Gina enjoys baking and spending time with her two children.

Peter is a Licensed Optician, credentialed through the Arizona State Board of Opticians, with over 20 years of experience as an optical lab manager. He is an expert in troubleshooting, adjusting eyewear, lens manufacturing, and repairing damaged eyewear. Many patients ask for Peter by name, seeking out his expertise for difficult fittings, tricky adjustments, and eyewear problems other shops can't solve. His main focus is making sure every patient leaves seeing clearly and comfortably.

Peter has been a resident of Arizona for over 26 years, and has lived all over the country, having been raised by parents in the military.

I'm an optician from Phoenix, where the sun's always shining and your glasses better have Transition lenses! I first stepped into the optical world as an optometric technician, learning the ins and outs of eye care from behind the scenes. It didn't take long before I realized how much I enjoyed not just the clinical side, but the personal side too. I love helping people see clearly, feel confident, and leave knowing they've been genuinely cared for. Every day brings new faces, new stories, and new reasons to love what I do. I've now been proudly working in the field for the past six years. My next big goal is to become a licensed optician. I'm excited to keep growing in an industry that continues to inspire me every day.
