The practice is owned and operated by Dr. Hoeppner. Dr. Hoeppner is originally from Northwest Iowa, but has been a resident of Arizona for over 20 years. Dr. Hoeppner is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Biological Sciences and a graduate of The Illinois College of Optometry with a doctorate of optometry degree. During her studies at the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Hoeppner was honored on the dean’s list and was a member of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and the American Optometric Student Association.

As a practicing optometrist, Dr. Hoeppner is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association Cornea and Contact Lens Section, and the Arizona Optometric Association.

Dr. Hoeppner has experience in all areas of optometry including, pediatric examinations, contact lens fitting, ocular disease management and post cataract surgery and LASIK management.

Dr. Michele McKenna (formerly Dr. Whitacre) is originally from Michigan, where she graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. Dr. McKenna attended optometry school at Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee where she earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree. During her optometric studies, Dr. McKenna was a member of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), the American Optometric Student Association, and was president of the SCO Contact Lens Society. Dr. McKenna spent the first eleven years of her optometric career working with a large family-owned practice in Indiana. Dr. McKenna relocated to Arizona in 2011 and joined Perfect Focus Eyecare in 2019.Dr. McKenna has a passion for education, both learning new things herself and sharing her knowledge with others. She loves when patients come into the office with a desire to learn more about their eyes and enjoys answering patients’ eye health and vision related questions. Dr. McKenna has experience in all areas of optometry, including post cataract surgery and LASIK management. Dr. McKenna has four dogs, and spends a lot of her free time in training classes with them. She also enjoys photography, yoga, hiking, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and watching movies.

Dr. Melody Young is originally from Miami, Florida. Dr. Young attended Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Vision Science and where she also attended optometry school and received her Doctor of Optometry degree. During her optometric studies, Dr. Young was a member of the American Optometric Student Association and after graduating, completed her residency in Ocular disease at Braverman Eye Center in Florida. Dr. Young spent the first seven years of her optometric career working in ophthalmology practices and retail practices in South Florida before relocating to Arizona in 2014 and has now joined Perfect Focus in 2022.

Dr. Young is fluent in Spanish and enjoys teaching her patients about their vision and eye health. Dr. Young is married with three children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, camping and baking with her children.

Gina is an Arizona native who is new to the optometric field. She enjoys helping patients and is finding Optometry to be an enjoyable profession. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge in Optometry and spending many years with Dr. Hoeppner and the rest of the staff at Perfect Focus Eyecare. In her spare time, Gina enjoys baking and spending time with her two children.

Peter has been a resident of Arizona for over 26 years.Hehas lived all over the country, being raised by parents in the military.

Peter has over 20 years of experience as a optical lab manager. Peter does hold his Opticians license through the Arizona StateBoard of Opticians.He has recently transitioned to a more conventionalrole of optician by helping customers with their eyewear needs and concerns.

Peter is the newest addition to the Perfect Focus Eyecare team, but brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Peter is an expert in troubleshooting, adjusting eyewear, lens manufacturing and repairing damaged eyewear. His main focus is to ensure every patient receives excellent service.

Savannah joined the Perfect Focus Eyecare team in 2021. Growing up with a parent who worked for an optometry practice, Savannah quickly joined the field shortly after graduating high school in 2013. Savannah has worked in different areas of the optical field, including working as a optometric technician, patient care coordinator and fitting/dispensing glasses.

Working as an optician Savannah found her passion for glasses. Savannah never stops adding to her own collection and is always keeping up to date on lens designs and trends. Savannah finds being an optician a perfect blend of fashion, science and art. Savannah truly loves what she does and is always willing to go the extra mile to help someone find just the right pair. Savannah is excited to be a part of the team here and looks forward to working with you.
