Dr. Michele McKenna (formerly Dr. Whitacre) is originally from Michigan, where she graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. Dr. McKenna attended optometry school at Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee where she earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree. During her optometric studies, Dr. McKenna was a member of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), the American Optometric Student Association, and was president of the SCO Contact Lens Society. Dr. McKenna spent the first eleven years of her optometric career working with a large family-owned practice in Indiana. Dr. McKenna relocated to Arizona in 2011 and joined Perfect Focus Eyecare in 2019.Dr. McKenna has a passion for education, both learning new things herself and sharing her knowledge with others. She loves when patients come into the office with a desire to learn more about their eyes and enjoys answering patients’ eye health and vision related questions. Dr. McKenna has experience in all areas of optometry, including post cataract surgery and LASIK management. Dr. McKenna has four dogs, and spends a lot of her free time in training classes with them. She also enjoys photography, yoga, hiking, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and watching movies. |
